A little before 11 p.m. Tuesday, Lewis?s daughter went out to the family car to find a cell phone accessory, he said. At that time, the teen noticed a green 1992 Mercury Capri pass by slowly then turn around, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff?s Adelanto station officials. ?That?s when my daughter said he told her to get into his car, that he wasn?t going to hurt her and that he had money,? Lewis said. ?She ran inside and got me.? His daughter told Lewis it was the same man that had been following her and her friends around the neighborhood since June. Lewis learned the driver of the green Capri had driven to a convenience store on the corner of Bellflower Street and Bartlett Road, Detective Anthony Valencia said. Lewis took his vehicle and blocked the Capri in, called 911 then entered the store to confront the man. With Mora arrested only a few hundred feet from two school bus stops and an apartment building, Lewis feels what he did not only prevented his children from being victimized, but also the other teens in the neighborhood. Mora had previously been arrested for kidnapping in 2004. He pleaded no contest to false imprisonment, according to court documents. Officials said Mora is also being investigated as a prior deported illegal immigrant.
